Delete your Wildbirds account

Wildbirds lets you delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, your profile is hidden immediately. Your chirps, photos, videos, direct messages, and other associated content are scheduled for permanent removal after a 14-day grace period. During that period your account remains deactivated and is not visible to other users.

Delete your account in the app

Android or iOS

1. Open the Wildbirds app and sign in.
2. Go to your profile.
3. Open Edit profile (or account settings).
4. Scroll to Delete account, confirm your username, and complete the deletion.

You will be signed out immediately after confirming.

Delete your account on the web

1. Sign in at wildbirds.io.
2. Go to Settings → Profile.
3. Click Delete my account, type your username to confirm, and complete the deletion.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app or website, email us at [email protected] from the email address linked to your Wildbirds account. Include your username and a clear request to delete your account. We may ask you to verify ownership before processing the request.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove or schedule removal of data associated with your account, including:

• Profile information (name, username, bio, avatar, and related settings)
• Posts (chirps), photos, videos, comments, and reactions
• Direct messages and conversations you participated in
• Follows, blocks, bookmarks, and notifications tied to your account
• Push notification tokens and API access for your account

What we may keep

We may retain certain information where required or permitted, for example:

• Records needed to comply with legal obligations
• Information retained for fraud prevention, security, or abuse investigations
• Server or security logs for a limited period
• Backups that are purged on a normal rotation cycle (typically within the 14-day deletion window or shortly after)

Delete some data without deleting your account
