Aaaaaaaah, I got two more lifers today and didn’t get a photo of either one of them! But dang it if it wasn’t awesome to finally see a Baltimore oriole! Here’s my consolation prize of a red-bellied woodpecker that set up in a great spot on this tree and a great view at Cherokee Lake.

Found two lifers with the flycatcher and the phoebe and I’m so glad my daughter was with me for all of these birds. She knows how bad I wanted a better picture of this flycatcher b... Some days the birds at the park put on their best Top Gun impressions. The grackle eventually bested the jays and then turned, for some reason, its aggression to the crow who was... The grackle eventually bested the jays and then turned, for some reason, its aggression to the crow who was just a vocal observer. Must have been having a bad day. 🤷🏻‍♂️
